“Peggy” Anna M. Mann, nee Johnson, age 94 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 20, 2024, after a short illness.
Peggy maintained humor, kindness, appreciation, and love of family and friends throughout her lifetime. Her love of crafting, playing cards, crossword and jigsaw puzzles or eating cupcakes was often shared with others. Peggy was always willing to lend a hand or offer supportive words to others. She had a knack for making others smile, even with her quiet and sweet demeanor. Peggy was a loyal secretary for 30 years at Peace Memorial Church where she greeted everyone with witty or comforting words.
Peg is once again with her “one and only” George E. Mann, to whom she was married for 37 years and carried on her devotion and love to him even after his death in 1990.She made sure that each family member knew about the life they built together, telling silly stories about the good old days. The pride in her family was transparent; if you knew Peggy, you knew about her family. She was the devoted and loving (and favorite) Mom of Glen Mann, Eric (Cathy) Mann, and Lauren (Terrance Farrington) Mann. She had unwavering love for her eight grandchildren, Amanda (Eddie) Gil, Buddy (Kellie) Mann, Samantha (Joe) Reda, Stephen (Holly) Mann, Lynnette (Michael) Fugitt, Carrie (Jordan) Chittom, Amy (Matthew) Morrone and Heidi (Kris Styrczula) Szymborski. Her love and pride for her family was evident in every conversation, especially as she talked about her nine great-grandchildren, Jackson Reda, Emma Gil, Mark Mann, Grant Reda, Anna Mann, Hudson Fugitt, John Oliver Chittom, Hallie Fugitt, and Mitchell Morrone.
Auntie Peg will be missed by many adoring nieces and nephews and their families. Most of who would say, “there’s no Aunt like Aunt Peg.” She was one of a kind. Peggy was not “Mom” or “Gram” only to her family. She opened her heart and home to all, touching the lives of neighbors, her children and grandchildren’s friends, and countless others who loved being part of her circle and calling her “Gram.”
She is now reunited with her Mom, Marguerite M., and Dad, Arthur B. Johnson, brothers and sisters, Audrey (Paul) Shugarman, Helen (Edward) Finnegan, William (Mary Ruth) Johnson, Betty Jane (Cliff) Lawrence, and Arthur (Betty Jean) Johnson.
Peggy’s passing will leave a void that will never be filled, but her loved one’s hearts are filled with fond memories that will last forever.
