Patrick E. Cronin

Patrick “Pat” “Big Paddy” Edward Cronin, age 73, passed away December 13, 2024, in Palos Heights, IL. Pat was born November 4, 1951, in Chicago, IL, the son of Edward Cronin and Dorothy (Schultz) Cronin. Pat graduated from Richards High School in Oak Lawn, IL and attended Northern Illinois University, Chicago State University, and Moraine Valley Community College. Pat had a lifelong career in union work as a Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer for the Chicago & Midwest Regional Joint Board, Workers United/SEIU, where his knowledge and passion empowered others to speak together with one voice. Pat loved sports and was a White Sox season ticket holder and an avid but often disappointed Bears fan. He was also an accomplished artist and was well-traveled, having forged memorable road trips with his brothers, sons, and nephews and international treks with his wife and friends. Remaining to cherish Pat’s memory are wife, Carol Spada Cronin; children, Patrick M. (Jera) Cronin, Eric P. Cronin; brothers, Terry, Tim, Jack; sisters, Carol, Marian, Peggy; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Pat in death are parents, Edward and Dorothy; brother, Kevin; and nephew, Neil.
