Lois H. Caithamer age 75, resident of Brookfield, IL at rest January 18, 2022. Adored daughter of the late Edward and Libby nee Novak Caithamer; loving sister of the late Linda (Steve) Wyczesany; cherished aunt of Adam (Natalie) Wyczesany; proud godmother to Cyrus Martinez and Jennifer Kirchens; beloved niece, cousin and devoted friend to many, including the late Joseph Ender. Lois was blessed with the heart of a teacher, which she shared freely with each of her students over her 40 year career. Her first 30 years were spent teaching fifth grade at Cooper School in Chicago, and then at St. Mary of Czestochowa in Cicero teaching second grade. Lois “walked worthy of the vocation to which she was called” by ensuring each of her students felt loved, understood and comfortable in her presence. In return, many of her students kept in touch into their adult lives which Lois considered a blessing. Lois was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at St. Barbara. She served her community through home tutoring and volunteer work at animal shelters. Lois will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and selflessness.
