Lilia Regina Kizlaitis nee Rozniekas, resident of Oak Forest, IL, born June 6,1937 in Alytus, Lithuania. Lilia has passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 at the age of 86. She fled Lithuania with her parents during the Second World War and was placed in displacement camps in Germany until they were liberated by the Allied Forces in 1945. Lilia’s family immigrated to the United States, and met her husband, Viktoras Kizlaitis.
Lilia worked as Laboratory Technician for West Side V.A. Hospital where she was a published chemist working on nutritional studies and infectious diseases. After retirement, she worked at the Lithuanian World Center in Lemont and supported many initiatives for Lithuanians.
She was very inquisitive, loved to travel, loved nature, loved to be in service, and loved to listen.
She is predeceased by her husband, Viktoras and her daughter Dana Kizlaitis. She is survived by her son Tomas Kizlaitis (Sev), her daughter Audrey Akai (Jason), and her grandchildren Kenon, Sami, Martin, Peter and Nathaniel. She also is survived by many family members in Lithuania.
