John Robert Harrison

John R Harrison Jr passed away peacefully on Sept 24, 2021 after an illness. Formerly of Valparaiso IN, & Palos Hills IL. John grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm in Jackson Township in Indiana. He began his career in sales working in the family retail business, St Anne’s Gift Shop. It was located Ford City Shopping Center in the 1980’s, eventually becoming co-owner with his sister Mary. Sadly, the Orland Park final location was closed in 2018 after 55 years of serving the Chicagoland area. John graduated from Chesterton High School & attended Moraine Valley CC in Palos Hills. He loved cars, enjoyed photography, helping people, animals & nature. He was a parishioner of St Michael’s Church in Orland Park IL. John especially was great at helping people find that perfect gift and he always prayed for the customers who shared their stories with him. Devoted son of the late John and Gertrude nee Mazur Harrison; loving brother of Mary, Greg and Joe Harrison, and devoted nephew & true friend to many. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Funeral Thursday, 8:45 a.m. from the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy. Palos Hills, Il 60465 to St. Michael Church, Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Casimir Cemetery
