John C. Maes

John C. Maes, husband of Cynthia nee Kolbus Spajda and preceded in death by his first wife Georgenia nee Filipiak, with saddened hearts the Maes sisters announce the passing of our loving and oldest brother and uncle. Our brother Jack was the first born to our parents Christopher and Catherine nee O'Neill Maes in Chicago, IL on March 16, 1935. He is preceded in death by our parents and brother Leonard T. Maes and his wife Geraldine. He is survived by his sister Kathleen Maes, Patricia (Gene)Smith and Christine (Gerald) Ansier, and loving, generous and supportive nephew Charles and his wife Pam Maes and several other nephews, nieces and cousins. After graduation from St. Rita High School, his alma mater, playing basket ball and enjoying life on the south side, he went to work for AT& T. He was drafted into the Army and served his country in Germany and during the Cuban Missile crisis. Jack loved golf, hunting and was an avid fisherman, and what a great older brother he was. We will surely miss him.
