Joseph "Joe" Csoke of Palos Hills, IL, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 28, 2021. Joe was born on July 16, 1932 in Vencsello, Hungary. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Jozsef and Maria Csoke, his brother Daniel Csoke of Budapest, Hungary and his sister Maria Tolgyesi of Norridge, IL. Joe is survived by his brother John (Mary) Csoke of Palos Hills. Joseph was part of the freedom fighters in the Hungarian Revolution in 1956; and shortly thereafter escaped to Austria and immigrated to the United States in 1957, and was re-united with his family and started his new life in the Chicago area. On February 4, 1961, Joe and Helen were united in marriage (60 years). Surviving Joe in death are his beloved wife, Helen (nee Pinkoczi) and two loving daughters, Helena (David) Devore and Eva (Jake) Falzone; his five grandchildren, known to him as Nagy Papa; Jessica (Matt) Gregg, Alec (Samantha) Falzone, Katie (Phil) Christensen, David (Ruthie) Devore, and Lauren Falzone (Ben Blum); two great grandchildren, Avery and Jackson Gregg and beloved nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Upon immigrating to the U.S., Joe became an electrician, a heating/cooling contractor and; thereafter, his dream of becoming a general contractor, building homes in the south suburbs of Chicago. Joe’s passions were fishing and gardening and loved making wine; but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and his brother and best friend, John; and especially with his little chickens (grandchildren and great-grandchildren). Joe loved his Chicago sports teams, the Chicago Sting/Fire, Blackhawks, Cubs and Chicago Bears. Joe will be greatly missed by many. A special Thank You to our angel, Kathleen for taking such good care of Joe during his battle with dementia and recovering from his many surgeries.
