Joan E. Hammerstein

Joan Hammerstein nee Bell of Palos Hills, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 13, 2022; beloved wife of John for over 60 years.; loving mother of Cheryl (Bruce) Gianpetro, Cindy (John) Siperly and Mark (Brigid) Hammerstein; cherished grandmother of Maria and Nate Gianpetro, Eric, Austin, Luke, and Jack Siperly and Francesca Hammerstein; great-grandmother of Autumn and Isabella Siperly; daughter of the late Ozell Sielecki nee Warren; sister of Barbara, Linda, and the late Merle and Harold. Employed by Christ Hospital as a registered nurse for over 20 years, Joan's greatest joy was spending time with her family, enjoying many family get togethers, and attending various sporting and school events for her grandchildren. Joan enjoyed spending time with John and family at their cabin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She will be missed by all who loved her and knew her.
