PARISE, Gloria Jean (nee Cimaroli) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old. Born in Chicago on October 21, 1939, to Pearl (Nalon) Cimaroli and Vincent James Cimaroli, she married John A. Parise, who predeceased her in 1992. Gloria enjoyed retirement years with her loving friend, Donald Phelps, spending many winters in their beautiful home in Manzanillo, Mexico. She was the heart of her family and is survived by her children John J. Parise, Nadine Parise (Steven Graef), Julie Hoff (H. Scott Matheney), Paul Parise (Rebecca), and Amy Delaney (Michael) and her grandchildren Jonathan Thornton (Caitlin), Michael Thornton (Ashley), Kevin Thornton, Alexandra Parise, William Hoff (Victoria), Isabella Parise, Eric Hoff (Andy), Vincent Parise, Madison Delaney, John S. Parise, Elizabeth Hoff, David Hoff, Sarah Thornton, and Andrew Delaney; her great grandchildren, Thomas, Everett, Reed, Ezra, and Blair, and Donald Phelps’ children Helene Ray, Donald J. Phelps, Neil Phelps, and Kim Beyer. Dear sister of Clifford Cimaroli (Linda) and the late Vincent James Cimaroli and Patrick Cimaroli. Fond sister-in-law and adoring aunt to her nieces and nephews. Friend of many from her years as an employee of Palos Community Hospital and Moraine Valley Community College, TOPS, the Mabels, and classmates from St. Willibrord High School and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and School in Roseland. Gloria lived life with joy and curiosity. She was known for her welcoming home, playfulness, and love of nature. Her positive outlook reflected her strong faith, her pride in the educational and professional accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, and her desire to make the world a more beautiful place. There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers and out of Gloria’s admiration for the Sisters, donations may be sent to The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary located at 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa 52003.
