Eleanor G. Katauskas (nee Imbiorski) 84 years old. Beloved wife of Joseph for 58 years. Loving mother of Elizabeth Katauskas-Bigott (Michael Guido) and Joseph (Dena) Katauskas. Cherished Grandmother of Jaimee and Lukas Bigott, Erika (Alex) Mendoza and Alexa Katauskas. Cherished “Bonus” Grandma of Jimmy & Mikey Bigott and Michael, Tommy and Olivia Durkin. Daughter of the late Roman and Ladislia “Charlotte” (nee Gewartowski) Imbiorski. Sister of the late Barbara (the late William) Sobaski, the late Robert Imbiorski and the late Margaret (the late Curtis) Spencer. Sister-in-law of MaryAnn Kay and the late Peter (the late Arlene) Katauskas. Survived by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was an amazing and talented artist and teacher at heart. She was a long-term member of the board of the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture and former president of its Women’s Guild. She was a dedicated volunteer in many organizations as well as an avid reader and wonderful cook who loved to bake especially birthday cakes for her family. Elli loved her home away from home in Beverly Shores, IN since the time of her marriage. Enjoying long walks, the beach, bonfires and spending time with her loving family and friends.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Saturday, January 11, 2025 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 7:00 p.m. at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy. Palos Hills, IL 60465. Interment private.
