David Joseph Bosonetta, Sr., was born on January 31, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to Domenic J. and Mildred M. Bosonetta. David is survived by his wife, Carol (Matulevicus), and their children Christine (Nick) Ferreri, David (Billie) Bosonetta, Jr., and Gregory (Meghan) Bosonetta. He was Grandfather to Jacob, Jacquelyn, and Garrett Ferreri; Zoe, Trevor, and Ivy Bosonetta; and Augustus Bosonetta. David was a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dominic Bosonetta, and sister, Darlene Hollingsworth.
David was an avid gardener, providing flowers and gardens to many. He enjoyed making flower arrangements for his church, First Baptist Church of Palos Hills. His backyard was a showpiece, more gardens than lawn.
David served the Lord and served others. He was a doer–you needed something done, you could count on him to be there for help. Whether in the kitchen at church, toting plants at a plant sale, or sitting on the softball bench, David was there to give you a hard time in a teasing manner. He greatly enjoyed serving at church banquets, marching in the Memorial Day parade, and being the photographer to document the events and moments ofa life he enjoyed.
David was a proud employee of General Truck Parts and enjoyed spending his time delivering parts across the Chicagoland area. He was a dedicated and loyal employee who was an example of work ethic and timeliness to those around him.
David was outgoing and friendly, needing to be engaged with others. He was an active member of the Oak Lawn Garden Club, enjoying every minute that he was able to participate in activities focused on his passion.
