Born on October 9, 1942, David Otto Baer of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on February 25, 2025. He spent his childhood with his late brother Roy at Angel Guardian Orphanage, which he had always considered his home, and Sister Mary Edward Mason like a mother to him. In his teens, he lived at Father Kelly's Home for Boys. At a young age, David married and divorced after having three children. He went into the construction business, working his way up to superintendent and project manager, which had him moving to Colorado, Wyoming, California, and back to Chicago before finally retiring to Arizona. Throughout his career, he also built three of his houses. A carpenter at heart, he made and sold furniture/cabinetry during his early retirement days while he rediscovered a love for softball and became a Pickleball champ. He moved back to Illinois, settling in Tinley Park, so he could be near his son. David is preceded in death by his first born Vivian Anderson, survived by his son David (Lisa) of Frankfort, and daughter Denise (Martin) Haschka of Germany. He is also survived by his grandchildren Renee Anderson of Las Vegas, Zachary Anderson of Orland, and David John Baer of Frankfort, along with his sister Dorothy "Dody" Lesniak of Hickory Hills. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In honor of David Baer, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital and/or the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
