Candace Nowobielski

Candace M. “Candy" Nowobielski, age 68, was born August 22, 1955 to Harry and Lorretta Smidt, the third of four children and their only daughter. She was an amazing mother and best friend to Julie; wonderful mother to Ronald, caring mother-in-law to Lea Anne and world's best Nana to Emma.

Over the years Candy had many friends, but held a special friendship with her Aphasia pals these past few years. They had a way to communicate with each other that none of us would understand and it truly made her happy with their daily texts.

Candy enjoyed spending time in the sun at the beach, reading a good book and going on long drives to check out new restaurants. She was a big fan of country music and has traveled to many places around the world.

Celebration of Life Thursday August 8, 2024 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with a 6:30pm Short Prayer Service and Eulogy at the Palos Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy, Palos Hills. In lieu of flowers, all gifts given in memory of Candy will be directed to support the Aphasia Center at Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital.
