Reverend Adam Albert Dietrich, age 82. Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Kargard). Devoted father of Ruth Elizabeth Dietrich, Paul Daniel, Ann Michal Dietrich, Mary Rebekah (Jerel) Fortkamp, Joel Andrew (Alicia) and the late Mark Jonathan. Loving grandfather of 7. Dear brother of the late John Dietrich. Rev. Adam Dietrich was a loving husband, father and grandfather who served his Lord as a Pastor and Teacher in the Chicago area for nearly 54 years. He was Pastor at 1st Trinity Lutheran Church (Bridgeport) where he would become an acquaintance of Mayor Richard M. Daley, he served as Chairman of the Theology Department at Luther High School South for 30 years where he taught thousands, and filled pastoral vacancies from the South Side of Chicago, her Suburbs, to as far as Wilmington, IL. He will be missed by family, church family, and school families who shared in their love and respect for him. He now enjoys his Sabbath rest in paradise with Christ his Lord and Savior. Visitation will be held first at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 1407 West Church Road, Beecher, IL on Thursday, November 9, from 4-7 PM. Visitation will then be held at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 W. 94th St., Oak Lawn, IL on Friday, November 10, from 4-9 PM. Rev. Adam Dietrich will lie in state on Saturday, November 11, from 9 AM until the service of Christian Burial begins at 10 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Lawn, IL. Interment will take place at Bethania Lutheran Cemetery in Justice, IL following the service at Church. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Beecher, IL, Saint Paul Lutheran School, Oak Lawn, IL, Veterans of the Cross (an RSO of the LCMS that assists retired Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod church workers, as well as their surviving spouses and dependent children, who are confronted by a financial crisis that forces them to choose between equally vital, basic human needs) or may be directed to the family for a memorial to be made.
