Robert Wayne Higdon, 86, Born June 19, 1926 in Chicago to Virgil and Viola(Hubenet) Higdon. In God’s arms January 28, 2013 at Manteno from complications of Parkinson Disease. Proud veteran of Merchant Marines, World War II, as a radio operator on ships in Atlantic and Pacific. Retired from Eschem, Inc (Swift) with 45 years at various accounting positions. Surviving, his wife and “best friend” Virginia (nee Graffis) for 62 years. Brother, Howard (CA), sister in law, Pam (Dale) Koch, brother in law ,Bert (Dolores) Graffis (OH), nephews, Corey and Tom, nieces, Karen and Rachel, nephew, Keith (deceased) and Nancy, great nieces and nephews. Also “Molly” favorite therapy dog. Omit flowers, donations to St. Mark Scholarship Fund or Illinois Veterans Home-Manteno,Unit 4E or charity of your choice. Visitation Thursday 2-8PM at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 S. Southwest Hwy. (7700W) Palos Hills. Lying in state Friday 9AM until time of service 10AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11007-76th Ave. Worth. Burial following at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery.
