Philip Shaul Major

July 8, 1926 — September 14, 2012

Philip Shaul Major, age 86, US Army veteran of World War II. Beloved husband of Patricia Jeanne(nee Johnson). Devoted father of Penelope(Gregory) Greiman and Perry Ernest Major. Loving grandfather of Rebecca Jeanne (Patrick) Dalseth, Andrew Philip Charles Greiman, Rachel Leigh Greiman, Dakota Elizabeth Major and great grandfather of Elise, Lex, Lucas and Ellery Dalseth; and Alex “Big Al” Greiman. Dear brother of Myra Jean Feldkamp, Richard N. Major and Russell Gordon Major. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Many years of service with Southtown Economist and Novus Auto Glass. Member of Oak Lawn Kiwanis, Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, Oak Lawn Golden K and Methodist Men. Phil was also a lifelong member of West Englewood and Oak Lawn Masonic Temple, a volunteer at Oak Forest Hospital and an avid bowler at Bleekers Bowl-Evergreen Park. Memorial visitation Saturday ,Sept. 22nd,10AM until time of service 11AM at 1st United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn, 100th & Central, Oak Lawn. Luncheon to follow. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers , please contribute to 1st United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave. Chicago, Il 60707.
