Joseph J. Pajda, born March 10, 1924 and passed away Aug. 21, 2012 at home with his children at his side. Joseph grew up in Chicago and entered the U.S Navy in 1943 and served aboard the U.S.S. Oyster Bay as the ship's baker and was honorably discharged in April 1946. In 1952, he bought his father's bakery, which was named Pajda Bakery, located at 2500 S. Whipple in Chicago, and continued to run and operate the business until he retired in 1983. He was the beloved husband of Irene, nee Jablonowski; loving father of Ronald (Christine), Karen (late George) Datro, Norene (late Paul) Kriks and Rene (John) Sroka; proud grandfather of Kimberly, Claudette, Joseph (Barbara), Dane (Kimberly), Jennifer (Jose) and Aren; great-grandfather of Paige, Annabelle and Jack; dear brother to Jean (late Leonard) Korby, Joan (late Joseph) Ziarko, the late Frank (Norma), Donald (Jackie) and Richard (Joyce) Paxton; fond uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews; dear friend and cousin of many. Visitation, Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy. (7700 West, Palos Hills). Funeral services 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment private.
